Our Boats: MS Carola & MS Franziska
Our two panoramic sightseeing boats, MS Carola and MS Franziska, take you on a 1-hour Berlin boat tour along the River Spree. Large panoramic windows along the sides and in the roof offer fantastic views of Berlin and its famous landmarks. Depending on the weather, the windows and retractable roofs can be opened or closed, allowing you to enjoy the sights in both sunshine and changing weather conditions.
MS Carola & MS Franziska
Our Berlin river cruises take place aboard two panoramic sightseeing boats, MS Carola and MS Franziska. Both boats are identical in design and feature
large panoramic windows
along the sides and in the roof, offering beautiful views of Berlin and the landmarks along the River Spree.
On warm, sunny days, the windows and
retractable roofs
can be opened so you can enjoy the fresh air. When temperatures drop or it starts to rain, they can be closed again. Both boats are also heated, ensuring a comfortable sightseeing experience even in changing weather conditions.
The MS Carola and MS Franziska are each 26.36 metres long and 5.10 metres wide, with space for up to 120 passengers per boat.
The main difference is the propulsion system: While MS Carola uses a conventional engine,
MS Franziska is electrically powered. This makes her particularly quiet and means she produces no local exhaust emissions during the cruise.
Onboard Facilities
Both MS Carola and MS Franziska offer comfortable padded seats, allowing you to sit back, relax and enjoy your Spree river cruise. On colder days, both boats are heated to keep you comfortable throughout the journey.
USB charging ports
are available in every second row of seats, so you can charge your smartphone using your own charging cable. Both sightseeing boats also have an onboard toilet.
If you would like a refreshment during your Berlin boat tour, drinks are available for purchase on board, including coffee and a selection of soft drinks.
MS Carola
The MS Carola has been part of the Hadynski shipping company’s fleet for many years. The large windows along the sides and in the roof give you a great view of the Spree and the sights along its banks during the cruise. In fine weather, the convertible roof can be opened. If it gets cooler or starts to rain, it can be closed. The boat is also heated. The MS Carola is 26.36 metres long and 5.10 metres wide. It can accommodate up to 120 passengers, making it suitable for both individual visitors and groups.
MS Franziska
The MS Franziska is the second sightseeing boat in the Hadynski shipping company’s fleet. Unlike the MS Carola, it is electrically powered. This makes it especially quiet and means it produces no local exhaust emissions while cruising. The boats have the same facilities: the MS Franziska also has large panoramic windows, an adjustable convertible roof and heating. At 26.36 metres long and 5.10 metres wide, it can also accommodate up to 120 passengers.
